Team Information

  1. Each team is allowed to have 12 players on their roster. Only players listed on the roster are allowed to play.  A Maximum of TWO non church members will be allowed on each roster.  All other players must be MEMBERS of your church.  Rosters must be submitted before the third game of the season.  Roster changes/updates will not be allowed after the third game of the season.
  2. All players are required to wear official ACAA basketball jerseys.
  3. All players are required to be 18 years of age or older. 
  4. If a team only has three players at the start of their game, it will be a forfeit. If a team only has four players available at the start of the game, it may pick up another player from another ACAA team, only if allowed by the opposing team's captain. If one of the original team's player(s) shows up, the pick-up player must stop playing. A team can start a game with just four players.
  5. In event of a forfeit, the team that forfeited will receive no points. Team that was there to play will receive the average of their total points added to their total points.

Game Information

  1. College basketball rules apply (NCAA).
  2. Games consist of two 20-minute halves with running clock. If the score is within 20 points the clock will stop during dead ball whistle for the last minute of the first half and for the last two minutes of the second half.
  3. After 7 team fouls, the person fouled will be rewarded a 1 and 1 situation.
  4. After 10 team fouls, the person fouled will receive two free throws.
  5. When substituting, please come to the scorer's table first to check in.
  6. Three timeouts allowed per game for each team. One timeout added for each three minute overtime period.
  7. There is no shot clock.
  8. NO CURSING. This is a TECHNICAL FOUL. Player receiving any type of technical foul must sit out for a "cooling down" period (typically minimum of 1-2 minutes until the next opportunity to substitute back into the game). Once a team has received a total of THREE (3) technical fouls in one game, that team will forfeit that game. Once a player has received TWO (2) technical fouls, he will be ejected from the game and must leave the gymnasium immediately, resulting in a one game suspension. All suspensions are subject to disqualification from the league and will be handled by a case by case basis. If suspended from league play, player must first meet with the ACAA Basketball Commissioner or his appointed agent(s) in order to return into the league.
  9. NO FIGHTING. Persons fighting will receive an automatic ejection from the game with suspension of following game and possible suspension for the entire season.
  10. General rules of the basketball gym location (school, church, etc.) apply at all times.
  11. All 2:00pm games will have a ten minute grace period. The 3, 4, 5, and 6:00pm games will receive a 5 minute grace period if allowed by the opponent's captain. If so, then the 1 st half will be 15 minutes and the second half will be 20 minutes long. There will be a 1-minute half time. ACAA League Commissioners will be the only appointed agents who will make decision on all forfeits.
  12. League standings are determined by win-loss record, head to head, and total point differential with a cap of 15 pts differential per game.
  13. If the game is tied at the end of the 2 nd half, a three-minute overtime period is played, each team will be given one timeout. There will be no carry-over of any unused timeouts. After the second overtime, each subsequent OT period will be 1 minute in length and no timeouts will be awarded or carried over.
