Thursday Night Men’s Basketball RULES
Prayer & Message- before each game all players will meet at center court for message and prayer, a member of the home team will say prayer
Game Time- 2 - 20 minute halves, with running clock. If game is within 20 points the clock will stop on whistled dead ball during last 1 minute of the second half.
Start Time- Each game will start at the designated game time, teams must have at least 4 players from their roster to start the game or the game is a forfeit. Teams will be allowed to pick up 1 player not from their roster to make 5 players
Teams will be allowed to play with only 4 players if there are no other players available to be picked up or if they so choose to play with 1 less player.
PICK UPS- Pick Ups are only allowed if a team only has 4 players or if the game is a forfeit, at which time any number of players can be picked up to allow for a game to be played.
Time Outs- Each team will receive 1 time out per half.
Shot Clock- There is no shot clock
Language- Unacceptable language will NOT be tolerated, the player will receive a technical and be asked to sit. If this becomes an issue CCS reserves the right to suspend the player for the season.
Fighting- absolutely NO fighting will be tolerated, persons fighting will receive an automatic ejection from the game and possible suspension for the entire season.
Technical- If a player receives a technical they will be asked to leave the floor for a Cooling off period, until they can prove themselves worthy of returning. At the appropriate time they will be given permission to return by the League Director.
TIE GAME- There will be NO tie games. If the game is tied at the end of the regular game period then each team will choose 3 players from its team roster. Those players will each shoot one free throw and the team that make the most WINS. If it is still a tie then we shoot sudden death free throws one at a time.
Referees- At all times players WILL be respectful to the referees. Any verbal abuse toward any of our refs will NOT be accepted or tolerated, which can result in a technical foul being called causing the player (s) to leave to the game.(see technical foul rule above)
Jersey- Each team member will wear a CCS reversible jersey, Home team will wear white side, visitors will wear dark side.
Free Throws- CCS plays the rim not the release on all free throws. Players must wait till the ball makes contact with the rim before they enter the lane.
Full Court Press- Teams are allowed to press their opponents unless they are over 20 points ahead. If a team is in excess of 20 points ahead, out of sportsmanship, they are no longer allowed to full court press.
MERCY RULE- IF A TEAM IS 20 POINTS OR MORE AHEAD WITH TWO MINUTES REMAINING IN THE GAME THE CLOCK WILL "NOT" STOP
